Why stats matter
Feelings lie: «I crush the button» might be true — or your BB might be bleeding. Numbers tell the story.
Core stats (beginners)

| VPIP | % of hands you play |
| PFR | % you raise pre-flop |
| 3-bet | Re-raise frequency |
| WTSD | Went to showdown % |
Beginner targets (Hold'em 9-max): VPIP 15–22%, PFR 12–18%.
Manual tracking (100 hands)
Log each session:
- Position (EP, MP, BTN, BB)
- Hand (AA, AK, 72o…)
- Result (+ / −)
- Note (tilt?)
Pair with bankroll management.
Find leaks
- Playing too many hands? → Starting hands
- Losing in BB? → Table position
- Big pot losses? → Psychology
