The 2+3 rule — most important
In Omaha you use only 2 of your 4 hole cards and exactly 3 from the board. No exceptions.
Example: You hold A♠ K♠ Q♦ J♦. Board: A♥ K♥ Q♠ 10♣ 2♦.
- Wrong: A♠ K♠ Q♠ 10♣ 2♦ (3 hole + 2 board)
- Correct: A♠ K♠ + A♥ K♥ Q♠ = Two Pair, Aces and Kings
Beginners often think they have a straight or flush when they only used one hole card. The dealer awards the pot to the correct hand at showdown.
Game flow
Preflop → flop → turn → river — same stages as Hold'em. Betting actions (fold, check, call, raise, all-in) work identically.
