Texas Hold'em Rules — Complete Guide
Texas Hold'em is the most popular online poker game in the world. You receive 2 private hole cards; 5 community cards are dealt face-up on the table. The best 5-card hand wins the pot. At Baatryn Öröö 9-max Hold'em tables, every hand follows these exact rules.

Goal of the game
You win the pot by either:
- Making the strongest hand ranking, or
- Making every other player fold before showdown
In a cash game, chips equal real money. You can leave the table anytime and rejoin later. There is no tournament bust-out.
Table structure

The dealer button marks who acts last postflop. That positional edge is huge. Read table position in poker after you know the rules.
Betting rounds
1. Preflop
- Each player receives 2 hole cards face down
- Small blind and big blind post forced bets
- Action starts left of the big blind: fold, call, or raise
- The button acts last preflop
2. Flop
3 community cards are dealt. Another full betting round: check, bet, call, raise, or fold.
3. Turn
The 4th community card. Another betting round.
4. River
The 5th and final community card. Last betting round.
5. Showdown
If 2 or more players remain, hands are revealed. The strongest 5-card combination wins. If hands tie, the pot is split. Kickers break ties when main ranks match.
Actions
- Fold — give up your hand and forfeit chips already in the pot
- Check — pass action when no bet is facing you
- Call — match the current bet
- Raise — increase the bet size
- All-in — bet all remaining chips
You can only check when nobody has bet in the current round. If someone bets, you must call, raise, or fold.
Blinds
At Baatryn Öröö, blinds range from 250/500 to 10K/20K. Blinds are forced bets that start every hand and create action. The small blind is half the big blind.
Example at 250/500: SB posts 250₮, BB posts 500₮. Minimum open raise is typically 2× the big blind (1000₮).
How hands are made
You combine your 2 hole cards with the 5 community cards to make the best 5-card hand. You can use both, one, or neither hole card.
Example: you hold 7♠ 8♠, board 9♠ 10♠ J♠ Q♥ 2♦. Your best hand is a Straight Flush (9 through J in spades) using 7♠ 8♠ 9♠ 10♠ J♠.
